About the event
Meet Bere Peninsula grower, chef and artichoke fanatic Martin at this free event in the field. Martin grows 3,000 artichoke heads on the Peninsula, most of which are sold fresh locally, with some preserved in olive oil and others used for a range of great tasting fresh artichoke creams. At this free pop-up event, Martin will talk about growing artichokes and different varieties, show you how to prepare them and explain about all the many ways to cook them - busting the myth they're difficult! With tastings and fresh artichokes and creams also for sale, we hope you'll feel inspired to cook and eat more UK produced artichokes in the future. The talk and demonstration lasts about half an hour or so leaving time for you to visit The Plough Inn or enjoy a walk down by the River.Â
